Native Americans in Maine have expressed serious concerns about contaminants in their environment. People living near the Loring Airforce Base Superfund Site are negatively impacted by legacy contaminants, and many are living in Environmental Justice communities of concern. Of particular concern are carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, a major focus of the MIT SRP.
